Many of those
technological advances generated by CSR are called "the first in
the industry" or "innovative". This is simply because we have always
worked hard to pioneer new technologies and, at the same time, committed
ourselves to developing those that would become the core in new
technological fields. Based on communication and digital imaging
that have been our forte since our establishment, we create highly
advanced hardware and software by developing key technological fields
(i.e.: processor development, communication protocol, graphic data
compression, and ultra high-speed data transmission) and by expanding
the core technology to peripheral and applied ones. Such technologies
are further applied to other fields, such as medicine and a disaster
prevention system. Thus, we at CSR have widened our business fields.
We keep striving after new technologies and their cores. This is
why we can provide technologies that our customers need, and they
can have a feeling of real satisfaction. With this belief, we are
producing comprehensive "computer technologies" that cover from
hard to software including devices and systems. |

| Earthquake information network
system |

| In 1990, we developed the
world's first automatic seismic intensity analyzer. The instruments,
authorized by the Japan Meteorological Agency, were delivered
to a few thousand places including the agency and nuclear
power plants. In addition, we have delivered our "Earthquake
Information Network System" to disaster prevention authorities
and "Seismic Observation and Data Processing System" to research
institutions. Thus, we have contributed to safety in society
in the disaster prevention field. |

| Next generation network |

| The rapid spread of the Internet
has caused a concentration of data in the backbone, and some
losses of data have become a serious problem. In order to
solve these troubles, CSR has carried out research and development
of products that are excellent in communication efficiency
and security and are aimed at improvement by increasing distance
and speed. "MAPOS Products" are also among our next generation
network products into which we have incorporated the latest
key information and communication technologies in concert. |

| Medical-related technologies |
|
| We are also experienced in
the medical field with new high quality image data processing
with greater clarity and more detailed images and networking
as key technologies, with electronic devices used for high
level medical technology and medical instruments like CT and
MRI; various kinds of firmware like ultrasonic diagnostic
units and endoscopes; and the development of hardware and
software related to DICOM and HL7. |
